Meet Our Newest Designer!

At Liberty Home we believe that when you are passionate about what you do it shines through and is reflected in your work.  Our newest Interior Designer and Stylist Katie Holmes is extremely passionate about Design and excited to join the Liberty Team.  I first met Katie when working at Union Gas Limited. She is extremely dedicated to helping people and I could tell right away that we would be friends for life (I also had the privilege to work with her mom for many years).  When I found out that Katie was taking the Interior Design Institute of Canada course I was secretly like, yes!!!… I just knew we would work together again!!  Katie is currently enrolled in our Building Your Interior Design Business online course and we have started to partner on projects. Katie has a great eye for design and the finer details! I can’t wait to show you what we have up our sleeves.

Katie has always appreciated a well-designed space. She attributes this to her late Mother.  In Katie’s words; growing up our home was decorated beautifully, and everything seemed to have its place. But my passion for interior decorating truly ignited when my husband and I purchased our forever home. The bones were great but aesthetically it wasn’t quite my style. I knew I could take our house to the next level and over the years I have slowly transformed our home and it now reflects my personal style.  I take such pride in our home and love how it makes me feel - comfortable, happy and connected. 

She is admittedly a type A, hyper-organized perfectionist. She has a degree in Sociology and Labour Studies, a post-graduate diploma in Human Resources and most recently a diploma in Interior Design.  She has spent the last 12 years working in corporate Human Resources developing strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. While on maternity leave, she was home and isolated due to the pandemic, and was craving a creative outlet. This is when she followed her heart and enrolled in an interior design program.  It wasn’t easy working 40 hours a week at her corporate job, while dedicating time to schooling and most importantly her young family. BUT she effectively managed her time and energy leading to where she is today, starting her journey partnering with Liberty Interior Design. 

Katie mentioned how grateful she was to both Joe and I. She is grateful for this opportunity to work alongside the incredible team of designers and contractors while she further develops her skills and learns more about the industry.  Although if you ask Joe and I…. We think we are the lucky ones!  Welcome to the team Katie!!
